Brooks converging, Creamery Road

Aobut 1/4 mile further upstream along Creamery Road, two brooks come together to form this South River tributary.

Small brook upstream of Creamery Road, Ashfield

This picture was taken from Creamery Road. It shows the southern brook, which flows east and borders woodlands to the south, and (beyond a narrow wooded riparian zone) a field to the north.

The confluence with the other brook occurs a few yards downstream of Creamery Road.

Two small brooks come together just  below Creamery Road in Ashfield, forming a tributary of the South River. A good example of the erosive power of very small streams.

Just below the confluence of two brooks near Creamery Road in Ashfield. This stream flows to the right and along the north side of the road for several hundred yards before crossing under it. The size of the trees on the slope across the stream suggest it has been carving into that hillside for some  years.
