Pumpkin Hollow Brook enters the South River in downtown Conway, immediately above the Route 116 bridge. A fairly new retaining wall installed at this location was destroyed when Tropical Storm Irene hit. The rip-rap here was installed post-Irene.
During Irene, the water level reached about as high as the chain link fence seen in the yard on the left. Several properties received heavy damage.
