Supporting resilience to river floods through science, policy, and community outreach
Headwaters of South River branch
Place name or River name:
Asfhfield
Watershed:
South River
Description/Comments:
We're at the very headwaters of this branch of the South River. Behind the photo vantage point is Norton Hill Road, which Creamery Road runs into.
A duck pond across the road is just a few hundred feet from the origin of this stream. Routes 116 and 112 are about 200 yards to the right.
Note how straight the stream appears here. It's likely it was straightened at some point, possibly as part of an effort to drain the meadow on the left.
